There oughta be a rule no selling Halloween candy before October.

Everything is too soon Wait 2 weeks, and the Thanksgiving stuff'll be out. Christmas won't be far behind. Thanksgiving is even sometimes passed over completely by retailers (Except for black Friday). I'll be giving home made foodstuff for the holidays unless I get a job real quick here.

I'd appreciate homemade foodstuff most. Consumable. It's not more clutter. I thought of adding some fresh sage to some olive oil cut couldn't fund decent bottles. When Halloween candy starts in September, I end up with two cycles of binging on 3 bags of candy instead of one. Then there are the sales AFTER! Grr.

what a great idea ! Fresh sage in olive oil. There's a dollar store by me that sells bottles with the cap that flips on, with the rubber ring around it. I think I will look into that.

the Christmas stuff is already out at my local Dollar Tree! sheesh, it's too soon.

Home made breads are a great gift!

I think that would be so much better than more "stuff" we don't want, don't need, never even heard of or knew existed until we saw some commercial. Also homemade gift certificates for babysitting, pet sitting, shoulder massages, "you've got a cold let me baby you" stints. This gift certificate allows the bearer to ask you to bring a big bag filled with extra soft tissues, nyquil, movie DVDs and soup that just needs to be reheated -- I mean really, when someone has the flu or a cold, who wouldn't appreciate that? The bearer could redeem it at any time. When you think about it, wouldn't most people appreciate this more than another sweater or electrical appliance? Especially people who live alone?

Homemade gifts iz the best. Especially if you are my neighbor and you know how to make those peanut butter chocolate oatmeal things. We've had an upsurge in our crafting with having less disposable income (thank you rising price of groceries!) the last few months. We've been knitting, cooking, and making jewelry for our friends lately. And the best crafting fun so far has been getting BIG jars from garage sales and GF's work and making terrariums with wee little plants & moss and gravel. They look so cool, and people seem to like them a bunch.
