long time no see
but if there are any oldtimers or even newbies, i have a favor to ask... I don't often ask for favors, but this is important. There have been "Yes on Prop 8" people all around Oakland, violent and shouting hate speech. IrieGirl has been peacefully across the street from them with a "No on 8" sign every day after work. The "Yes on 8" campaign has been majorly funded by the Mormon Church--many of whom are people who IrieGirl grew up with and babysat for...Please come and stand with us to support civil rights this Sunday at 9am across from the Mormon Temple. It would mean a lot to both of us--especially since it will be hard for IrieGirl to see her former community acting against her. Here's the info: A peaceful demonstration for a "NO on Prop. 8" vote in front of the large Mormon temple on Sunday, October 26th, at 9:00 AM.- 4770 Lincoln Ave. near the Warren freeway (highway 13), Oakland, CA. p.s. $8 million was donated to the "Yes on 8" campaign by the LDS (Mormon) church alone however some smaller groups of Mormons feel the ban is wrong (click above link.) I believe that yesterday's "Yes on 8" bus journey throughout Oakland was literally fueled with some of this money. (and of course, I understand if standing across from the temple is not your cuppa tea)
