Hey, as long as they pay their own way and don't
count on public assistance, then 'whatever.' Seriously, though, I do think there is an undefined psychological disturbance on both parents' parts running underneath the surface. I've wondered what their response would be to any of their children who might be gay... On Sunday, I listened to Mitt Romney insist that he is 'pro-life' and that 'all life from conception on is sacred,' and many people feel this way, yet they have screaming fits about the state of public assistance, welfare, and Medicaid in this country. Adoption services are a joke, foster care is inept, and yet, 'all life is sacred.' Kind of like, "we'll get you here, but what happens to you after that is not our problem. If you become a thug, develop a hatred for society, fail to become an upstanding member of society, well, it's your single welfare mother's fault." Sheesh.
