I miss summer jobs I kind of wish I could leave my job for two months every summer and take a summer job. I enjoyed the wildlife surveys. I'd like to work as a camp counsellor once or twice, or a trail guide like I used to with the riding stable. If you got the summer off every year, what summer job or occupation would you take up?

My favorite summer job I was a lifeguard for a YMCA pool. Daytime was summer camp and evenings were YMCA families. OH the pool parties we had!!

anything in the US where an English accent would be an advantage. It's about my only asset so I should use it

Funny you should say that... Cape Cod is FULL of immigrants in the summer. Everyone has an accent. It seems as though each year a different country is the majority. British one year, Irish another, Germans another. I think it is because the summer businesses (restaurants & hotels and such) don't always claim all their employees. We ate at a restaurant where the owner also puts up all his immigrant employees. He treats them VERY well, but others may not. They work HARD all summer, get one day to chill on the beach per week, and go home with full purses. We also guessed that the American college students weren't willing to work as hard as necesary to do these jobs.

I wish I'd got off my behind and done something like that when I was younger. Now I have financial commitments here

During my college years we built houses with Habitat for Humanity. It was a great way to get skills and hang with cool people.
