probably why would you say you have a disease, if you don't know about it? Regular paps and testing (not to mention condoms) are a good idea.

Yeah to run an HPV test is often a special request or when a woman is over thirty. Even then at times only if the pap comes back abnormal. Had a scare myself recently only because the GP ran the test by mistake. By the way it can go away by keeping a healthy immune system and getting enough sleep.

a doc isn't going to say no to a patient who requests the test. My doc was convinced that I had something horrible, but as it turns out, I was severely allergic to my guy's latex condoms. Point is, the doc thought I had HPV or something and that was a terrible scare. Totally not worth the worry in my opinion. As I said, condoms are still a safe(er) bet. (oh, and I've had a Leep done, and it's really not so bad... just have to be sure to catch abnormal cell growth early)

night night and procedure caused slight spotting (I also had some cysts on my ovaries removed)... I was back to fooling around the next day... I know, I know... bad minxy (and bad minxy advice, don't do that people). Sleep well, I'm not too far behind.

I think when people say they are DD free you should take precautions anyway. And after all, people can be asymptomatic carriers of chlamydia and worse. And I never understand why drugs and disease are lumped into the same category. I'm more of a "no tobacco smokers" type.

hpv is hardly even a disease... ...much less an STD...it can come and go...and i have seen #'s as high as 90% of people have it at one time or another...if it wasnt for certain strains link to cervical cancer, only the moral minority(who have bankrolled most of the doom and gloom studies on HPV) would care about HPV

for the record I'm totally against the stupid innoculations they have for it. *sighs* don't get me started. Ladies, get regular check ups. Guys, if you know your partner has it, wear protection so you don't give it to your next partner. Wear condoms etc. I've heard it can cause warts, so I consider some of the symptoms to be STD like and since it can lead to cancer and other dysfunctions (like weird bleeding and pain) I think it's worth being concerned about.
